ADOPTABLE
ANIMALS

Animals brought into PJ's Rescue are temporarily placed in foster homes throughout the Twin Ports. The volunteers provide the animals with a home, balanced diet, and basic training. Included in the adoption fee is the appropriate vaccines, microchip, and spay/neuter procedure. Some dogs have been receiving training and upon their adoption a complimentary training session will be given to the adopter.

Looking to adopt? You came to the right place!

You can find more information about PJ's Rescue adoption process and animals available for adoption through the links and modules below.

 1. Find Your Perfect Match

Learn more about the animal you are interested in via the animal's PetFinder. You can view available dogs and cats via the links further down on this page.

Additional questions can be emailed to adopt@pjsrescue.com.

4. Meet The Animal

Meet the animal and communicate with the foster volunteer about the animal's habits, needs, and schedule.

PJ's Rescue often holds public events which are an excellent way to meet a variety of available animals. You can find more information about upcoming events on our events page.

2. Apply

Fill out an adoption application for the animal. Note that we receive many applications for the same animal so  please allow up to 4 days for a response.

All agreement applications should be emailed to adopt@pjsrescue.com.

5. At-Home Trial

Participate in a temporary at-home trial with the animal (this does not apply to puppies).

Trial home visits allow potential adopters to connect with the animal and detect any potential barriers to the animal's success once permanently in the home.

3. Connect With PJ's Team Members

A PJ's team member will reach out to you with further information and discuss your application.

Most often team members will reach out via phone call or text.

6. Perfect Fit

If the trial run is successful, a team member will reach out to you confirming the adoption payment and final transfer of registration paperwork.

If the trial run is not successful, the foster volunteer will be in touch and retrieve the animal.
